Terence Tchiknavorian finished 5th in ski cross at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games

At the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, French athlete of Armenian descent Terence Tchiknavorian delivered a strong performance in ski cross, finishing in fifth place overall.

The 33-year-old athlete confidently advanced through the tournament bracket and reached the semifinals, where he finished third in his heat and narrowly missed out on the main final. However, Terence won the small final, securing 5th place overall. Among the four French representatives in this discipline, Tchiknavorian achieved the best result.

This marks Terence’s third Olympic appearance — and possibly not his last. A notable example is 40-year-old Swiss athlete Alex Fiva, who claimed the bronze medal at these Games, proving that age is no barrier to top-level success.

His younger brother, 28-year-old Melvin Tchiknavorian, made his Olympic debut and finished 17th among 31 competitors.
