Armenian national team defender Nair Tiknizyan has officially transferred from Lokomotiv Moscow to Serbian club Crvena Zvezda. According to insider Ivan Karpov, the contract is for two years with an option to extend for an additional season. Tiknizyan's annual salary will be €700,000.
Currently, Crvena Zvezda is holding its pre-season training camp in Zlatibor, Serbia. The team is preparing for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, where they will face the winner of Vikingur vs Lincoln. A friendly match against Sutjeska is scheduled for June 24.
A journalist published a video of Tiknizyan signing the contract in the office of the Belgrade club. Lokomotiv will receive €1.7 million for the transfer and could earn another €500,000 in bonuses.
This summer, Crvena Zvezda has already strengthened their central defense by signing Serbian international Miloš Veljković from Werder Bremen and former Zenit defender Rodrigão.
However, the main issue for the team has been the left-back position. Milan Rodić, 34, left the club, and Tiknizyan is being considered as his replacement.
Given Tiknizyan's attacking abilities, he may also be used as a winger. Either way, he is expected to get plenty of playing time in the Serbian club.
