Strickland beats Chimaev and reclaims UFC title: full UFC 328 results and bonuses

UFC 328: Chimaev vs. Strickland took place on the night of May 9-10 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The main event of the evening was a middleweight title fight, where Sean Strickland stunned Khamzat Chimaev by split decision and reclaimed the UFC belt.

For Chimaev, it was the first defeat of his professional career. Two judges scored the fight 48-47 in favor of Strickland, while the third judge gave it to Chimaev by the same score, 48-47. As a result, the former champion ended Khamzat’s unbeaten run and returned to the top of the middleweight division.

The co-main event was also one of the highlights of the night. UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van defended his title with a fifth-round TKO victory over Japan’s Tatsuro Taira. The bout was named Fight of the Night.

In the heavyweight division, Alexander Volkov earned an important victory. The Russian fighter went the full three-round distance against Waldo Cortes-Acosta and won by unanimous decision.

Roman Kopylov, Baysangur Susurkaev, Yaroslav Amosov, Jim Miller, Sean Brady and several other fighters also picked up victories at the event.
