The Armenia U21 national team will hold a training camp on October 6–7 at the FFA Technical Center / Football Academy. Head coach Armen Gyulbudaghyants has announced the list of players who will prepare for the upcoming UEFA U21 European Championship qualifying matches against North Macedonia and Italy.
The team includes four foreign-based players — two from Russia, one from Slovakia, and one from Austria. The core of the squad traditionally consists of players from Yerevan’s BKMA, which is natural since most footballers under the age of 20 either play for BKMA or serve in the army. Those who are not currently with the army club have played there before, such as Gor Matinyan, Araik Eloyan, and others.
Notably, Spartak Kostroma forward Artur Gharibyan has received his first call-up to the U21 national team. He has already scored three goals in the current FNL season. Previously, he represented Armenia at U17 and U19 levels.
All BKMA players officially belong to other Armenian clubs and represent the army team during their military service.
