Armenian skier Sipan Tsaghkyan won two gold medals at the 2025 Special Winter Olympic Games held in Turin. A representative of the Armenian Ski Federation and a trainee of the Vanadzor Winter Sports School, he trains under the guidance of Artyom Avetisyan.
Tsaghkyan secured first place in the 2.5-kilometer classic-style ski race. He also won the 500-meter freestyle race. Another Armenian skier, Narek Papayan, placed 6th in the 50-meter classic-style race.
The Special Olympic Games are designed for athletes with intellectual disabilities and serve as an important platform for promoting inclusive sports. Sipan Tsaghkyan's success is a significant achievement for Armenian sports and an inspiring example for many athletes.
