The Montenegro national team suffered a 0–2 away defeat to the Czech Republic in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The match took place on June 6 in Plzeň.
The Czech side secured the win thanks to goals by Patrik Schick and Adam Hložek. Montenegro had a chance to reduce the deficit, but Mirko Vukotić missed a penalty.
After three rounds, Robert Prosinečki’s team has 6 points: previously, Montenegro defeated Gibraltar (3–1) and the Faroe Islands (1–0). With three consecutive wins, the Czech Republic tops Group L with the maximum 9 points.
On the same day, Armenia played a friendly match against Kosovo and lost 2–5.
On June 9, Montenegro and Armenia will face each other in Nikšić in a friendly match, serving as preparation for the autumn fixtures.
As a reminder, Armenia has not yet started its 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign. There are only four teams in the group, and John van’t Schip’s men will play their first match on September 6 against Portugal.
