On February 6, 2024, the draw for the qualifying round of the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship took place in Nyon, Switzerland. As a result of the draw, groups were formed in which national teams will compete for a place in the final tournament, which will be held in Albania and Serbia in the summer of 2027.
The Armenia U21 national team was placed in Group E, where its opponents will be:
- Italy
- Poland
- Sweden
- North Macedonia
- Montenegro
Tournament Format
The group stage will take place from March 2025 to October 2026. The nine group winners and the best runner-up (based on matches against the top five teams in their group) will qualify directly for the final tournament, joining the host nations Albania and Serbia. The remaining eight second-placed teams will compete for the final four spots in play-off matches in November 2026.
Draw Restrictions
Based on decisions by the UEFA Executive Committee and the Emergency Panel, certain teams could not be drawn into the same group:
- Armenia and Azerbaijan
- Belarus and Ukraine
- Gibraltar and Spain
- Kosovo and Bosnia & Herzegovina
