Armenia U20 suffer heavy defeat to Portugal at EuroBasket

The Armenia U20 basketball team suffered its second defeat at the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B. In the second round, Armenia lost heavily to Portugal, 32-112.
Portugal took control from the opening minutes and significantly outplayed their opponents throughout the game. The Armenian players attempted 51 field goals and made only 12 of them, finishing with a shooting percentage of 23.5%. Portugal attempted 85 shots and ended the game with 51% shooting accuracy.
Turnovers were one of the main factors that determined the outcome. Armenia committed 32 turnovers, while Portugal had 14. The Armenian team also recorded only five assists.
Amassia Dayan was Armenia’s leading scorer with nine points. Jahmel Bruce and Xavier Kilissian added six points each.
In their opening game, Armenia lost to Iceland 63-97. The Armenian team will next face Bosnia and Herzegovina, who previously suffered an 84-69 defeat against Portugal.
