Armenia U18 team opens EuroBasket campaign with a convincing victory

Armenia’s youth national basketball team made a winning start to the FIBA U18 European Championship Division C, which is being held in Albania.
In their opening game, Armenia defeated Gibraltar 82–62.
The most efficient player of the game was Anthony Sarkesian, a member of Armenia’s title-winning U16 team. He recorded 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
US-based Mike Nshanyan was Armenia’s leading scorer with 22 points. He also made four of his seven three-point attempts, shooting 57 percent from beyond the arc.
Armenia will play their next game on July 22 against Andorra, who lost their opening match to Kosovo 87–79.
