Armenia U17 lose to Lebanon for the second time ahead of Euro 2027 qualifiers

The Armenia U17 national team played its second friendly match against their counterparts from Lebanon. The game in Yerevan ended with a 2-0 victory for the visitors.

Lebanon therefore won both friendly matches against Armenia. In the first meeting, which was also played in Yerevan, the Lebanese team claimed a 2-1 victory.

The next matches for Mher Mirumyan’s team will take place in November and will be official fixtures. Armenia will compete in the first qualifying round of the 2026/27 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Armenia will face France, Italy and Luxembourg, with all group matches set to be played in Yerevan.

Armenia are expected to strengthen their squad ahead of the qualifying tournament. The team played the two friendlies against Lebanon with almost no players from foreign clubs.

Matches against strong France and Italy sides will be a serious test for Mirumyan’s team, while hosting the qualifying tournament in Yerevan could help Armenia in their bid to reach the next round.
