Armenia National Team Held Final Training Ahead of Portugal Clash

On the evening of September 5, Armenia’s national football team, led by head coach Yeghishe Melikyan, held its final training session before the start of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
All players took part in the training except for the injured Styopa Mkrtchyan and Ognen Chanacharevic. The squad was also joined by Artem Bandikyan from the U21 team, who was called up to the senior squad instead of traveling to Sweden for the Euro 2027 qualifier.

The Armenia vs. Portugal match will take place on September 6 at 20:00 local time at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan. The game will be officiated by an English referee team led by Anthony Taylor, assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, with Robert Jones as the fourth official. VAR will be handled by Peter Bankes and Stuart Attwell.
