Armenia's Women's Tennis Team Falls to Finland in Billie Jean King Cup Playoff

Armenia’s women’s tennis team ended their Billie Jean King Cup (Group III) playoff match with a 0:3 loss to Finland.

In singles matches, Alina Soghomonyan lost to Laura Hietaranta — 1:6, 0:6, while Ani Amiryan couldn’t challenge Anastasia Kulikova — 0:6, 0:6. In the doubles match, the duo Soghomonyan/Korneeva was defeated by Hietaranta/Blomqvist — 2:6, 2:6.

Armenia’s next match is scheduled for June 20 against Moldova.

Earlier, the Armenian team showed a strong performance in the group stage, winning all three matches and advancing to the playoffs. In this stage of the tournament, only one team earns promotion to Group II.
