Armenia national futsal team returns home: welcome at Zvartnots

The Armenia national futsal team has completed its historic participation in the UEFA Futsal Euro 2026 and is returning home. According to the Football Federation of Armenia, the plane carrying the team will land at Zvartnots International Airport on February 2 at 05:35 Yerevan time.
The players coached by Ruben Nazaretyan became one of the biggest revelations of the tournament. The Euro debutants confidently passed the group stage, earning 7 points and finishing first in their group. However, in the quarterfinals, the team lost 0–3 to Croatia and exited the competition.
A tournament to be proud of
Despite the elimination, Armenia had a fantastic tournament:
- 2 wins (against Ukraine and the Czech Republic)
- 1 draw (against Lithuania)
- 1 loss (against Croatia)
- Reached the playoffs from first place in the group
- Debut final tournament and immediately a top-8 finish in Europe
Even with the exit, participation in the Euro marked a major milestone in the development of Armenian futsal. For the first time in history, the team reached continental level and established itself as a serious competitor.
Fans, journalists, and federation representatives are planning to welcome the team at the airport to express gratitude for the emotions and pride they brought to the whole country.
