Armenia basketball team defeats Ireland in Los Angeles

The Armenia men’s national basketball team claimed a win over Ireland in a friendly game as part of the Los Angeles International Basketball Classic.
The game took place in Los Angeles and ended with a 74:59 victory for Armenia.
Armenia started the game confidently and won the first quarter 23:20. After a competitive first half, the Armenian team managed to keep its advantage, while the final quarter proved decisive: Armenia held Ireland to just 9 points and closed out the game with a solid win.
Chris Mitchell was Armenia’s top scorer with 16 points. Artem Tavakalyan added 14 points, Yura Melikyan scored 13, while Andre Spight-Mkrtchyan finished with 10 points and 6 assists.
For Ireland, the best scorer was Sean Flood, who recorded 18 points.
Armenia had the edge in offensive rebounds, 12 to 10, made 16 assists and scored 36 points in the paint. The Armenian team also made better use of Ireland’s turnovers, scoring 17 points from them.
