Sardarapat continue to enjoy a strong debut season in the Premier League. In the fifth round, the Armavir-based club defeated fellow newcomers Syunik 3-1.
The first half ended goalless, although both teams had a player sent off. Syunik’s Arsen Galstyan and Sardarapat’s Yann Lago were shown red cards. The main action unfolded after the break.
Sardarapat scored three times in the second half. Sergey Kochkanyan netted his first Premier League goal, Levon Vardanyan scored for the second time this season, while Levon Petrosyan took his tally to four goals.
Petrosyan also extended his scoring streak, with the forward now finding the net in four consecutive matches.
Kochkanyan and Vardanyan also registered assists. Vardanyan, in particular, has made an impressive start to the season, recording two goals and four assists in four appearances.
Syunik’s only goal was scored by Miguel Silva, who converted a penalty.
After four matches, Sardarapat have collected 10 points and remain unbeaten in their debut Premier League season. Syunik have one point after five games.
The two teams had already met earlier this season in the Armenian Cup round of 32, with Syunik winning the tie on penalties.
