Armenia national futsal team captain Vladimir Sanosyan will miss the start of the season with Norilsk due to health problems.
The 33-year-old futsal player has been diagnosed with a kidney problem and is set to undergo surgery in the near future. The exact timeframe for his recovery has not yet been specified.
As a result, Sanosyan is unlikely to recover in time for Armenia’s opening matches in the main round of the European qualifiers for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
Armenia will begin their qualifying campaign on October 20, 2026, with a home match against Hungary. Their next match will be away to Sweden on November 7.
Armenia will also host Sweden on December 9 in Group 1 before facing Hungary away on March 3, 2027.
