Samvel Siramargyan wins on opening day of U19 European Boxing Championships

The U19 European Boxing Championships have kicked off in Loznica, Serbia. Three members of the Armenian national team entered the ring on the opening day of competition. Samvel Siramargyan, competing in the 80 kg weight category, secured a victory.

Siramargyan confidently defeated Israel’s Joseph Shalelashvili. All five judges awarded the bout to the Armenian boxer, giving him a 5–0 unanimous decision.

Two other Armenian representatives were eliminated after defeats. In the 60 kg category, Artur Avetisyan lost 0–5 to Azerbaijan’s Ali Bagishov, while in the 51 kg category Amest Afrikyan was defeated 0–5 by Russia’s Ksenia Ovechkina.
