Ruslan Selimyan becomes IBF Youth world champion

Unbeaten 23-year-old boxer Ruslan Selimyan, representing Pyatigorsk, claimed his 15th professional victory and won the vacant IBF Youth welterweight title.
The title fight took place as part of the IBA 20 boxing event in Naberezhnye Chelny. Selimyan faced Uganda’s Ivan Kambagire (9-3-1).
The bout went the full scheduled ten rounds. Selimyan took the initiative from the opening minutes and confidently controlled the action throughout the fight. The Russian-based boxer held a clear advantage and won every round. The full video of the fight can be watched HERE.
After ten rounds, the judges unanimously awarded the victory to Ruslan Selimyan. He therefore maintained his perfect professional record — 15 wins in 15 fights — and captured the IBF Youth championship belt.
Ruslan Selimyan was born in Armenia, has Yezidi roots and represents Pyatigorsk. Winning the IBF Youth title has become one of the biggest achievements of the 23-year-old boxer’s professional career.
