FC Urartu has officially announced the appointment of a new head coach. The team will now be led by 39-year-old Armenian specialist Robert Arzumanyan. He replaces Dmitry Gunko, who will continue his coaching career in Russia, having taken charge of Arsenal Tula.
This marks a return to the club for Arzumanyan, who previously coached Urartu during the 2021/22 season. Until recently, he worked within the structure of FC Noah.
Arzumanyan will be joined on the coaching staff by Aras Ozbilis, who previously served as Urartu’s Deputy Director General for Youth Development. He will now become one of the assistant coaches.
Notably, Arzumanyan and Ozbilis know each other well from their time together on the Armenian national team. Now, their football paths cross once again — this time on the coaching bench.
The club expressed confidence that Arzumanyan’s experience and leadership will bring new energy to the team and wished the coaching staff success in the upcoming season.
As a reminder, Urartu is currently preparing for the first round of the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers against Belarusian club Neman. The first match will take place on July 10.
