“Pyunik” and “Van” earned important victories in the 12th round of the Armenian Premier League

In a tense match, Pyunik defeated BKMA 2–1. Artur Asqaryan scored for the army team, but goals from Erik Okansi and Javi Moreno brought the capital side all three points.

An equally dramatic encounter took place in Gyumri, where Van snatched a 3–2 victory over Shirak in the dying minutes. The winning goal came from 39-year-old Hrayr Mkoyan, who confidently converted a penalty against his former club in the fifth minute of added time. This was Mkoyan’s first goal in six and a half years — his previous strike came from a 40-meter shot for Alashkert against Ararat-Armenia back in 2019.

For Shirak, Jesse Akila and Gagik Akulyan found the net, while Van’s goals were scored by Jefferson, Ferreira, and Mkoyan.

After these matches, Pyunik climbed to third place in the standings, overtaking Urartu and Noah, while Van, with 14 points, now sits in sixth place.
