The draw for the first qualifying round of the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League took place on June 16 in Nyon, Switzerland. As a result, two Armenian clubs — Pyunik and Alashkert — learned their opponents.
Pyunik will face Maltese side Marsaxlokk in the first round. The first leg of the tie will be played away, while the return match will take place in Armenia. The draw can be considered relatively favorable for the Yerevan club: there were more difficult options among the possible opponents, so Pyunik received a tie that looks quite manageable.
Alashkert, meanwhile, were handed a tougher opponent — Kazakhstan’s Yelimay. The Kazakh team looked like one of the strongest options among the possible opponents for the Armenian club. At the same time, Alashkert will begin the tie at home and play the second leg away.

The winners of the ties will advance to the second qualifying round. The draw for that stage will take place tomorrow, June 17. It will also be important for the Armenian clubs, as it will determine their potential opponents in the next stage of the European campaign. Noah will also learn their opponent tomorrow, as they enter the tournament from the second qualifying round.
