Five Armenian Karatekas to Compete at the 2025 World Championships in Cairo

Three athletes from Armenia’s national karate team have qualified for the 2025 Karate World Championships, which will take place in Cairo from November 27 to 30. According to the international ranking results, they earned the required number of points to participate in the season’s main tournament.
The following athletes secured their place at the World Championships:

Yura Zalyan — up to 60 kg

Suren Harutyunyan — up to 75 kg

Gor Nersesyan — up to 84 kg
In addition, two karatekas of Armenian descent will compete as part of the Russian national team:

Yurik Ogannisian — up to 67 kg

Eduard Gasparyan — up to 84 kg
Thus, Armenia will be represented in Cairo by a total of five athletes, highlighting the growing influence and level of the Armenian karate school on the international stage.
It should be noted that the 2025 European Championship was held in Armenia.
