Representatives of Andrés Iniesta’s Academy have arrived in Armenia — academy director Ivan Cascales and head of the educational and training program Ruben Bonastre.
During the visit, they got acquainted with Armenia’s football infrastructure. The academy representatives visited the Republican Stadium, the FFA Technical Centre/Football Academy, and also attended the match between Sardarapat and Syunik.
The main topic of the visit was potential cooperation between the Football Federation of Armenia and the Iniesta Academy. Cascales and Bonastre held discussions with the FFA leadership on the possibility of introducing the academy’s educational program into Armenian football.
One of the options being considered is the implementation of the program at the new football academy that will be built in Davtashen. In the future, the cooperation may also be expanded to other regional academies in Armenia.
For Armenian football, such a project could become an important step in the development of youth football. It is not only about the training process, but also about introducing modern educational approaches used in international football academies.
The FFA continues its work to attract foreign expertise and develop the infrastructure needed for the training of young footballers. Potential cooperation with Andrés Iniesta’s Academy could become part of a long-term strategy to improve the quality of football education in Armenia.
