Noah midfielder Gustavo Sangaré has been called up to the Burkina Faso national team and included in the official squad list for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on December 21.

According to FIFA regulations, clubs are allowed to keep their players until December 15, after which they are obliged to release them to their national teams. This creates an important nuance for Noah, which still has upcoming matches in the Conference League.

The club will play a Conference League match against Dynamo Kyiv on December 18. Since Burkina Faso’s first match at the tournament is scheduled only for December 24, Sangaré can theoretically remain with the club until the game against the Ukrainian side and help the team in a key European fixture.

Burkina Faso’s group-stage matches at AFCON 2025:

• December 24 — Burkina Faso vs Equatorial Guinea

• December 28 — Algeria vs Burkina Faso

• December 31 — Sudan vs Burkina Faso

It should be noted that another Noah player will also head to AFCON — goalkeeper Timothy Fayulu, who has been called up to the DR Congo national team.
