Petik Manukyan joins Urartu

Twenty-year-old centre-back Petik Manukyan has become a Urartu player.

Manukyan is a graduate of the Avan Football Academy. He spent the last four seasons at BKMA, where he received regular playing time and became one of the notable young defenders in the Armenian championship.

He has also made 11 appearances for Armenia’s youth national team.

Petik’s move can be considered a strong signing for Urartu, especially given his age and experience in the Premier League. At the same time, the transfer is noteworthy in light of previous statements made by club owner Jevan Cheloyants. Earlier, he said that among Armenian players, only Urartu academy graduates or Armenians from other countries could play for the club.

Manukyan does not fall into either of those categories, as he is a graduate of the Avan Academy and has spent recent years playing for BKMA.
