Armenia national team midfielder Edgar Sevikyan will continue his career at Tolyatti’s Akron on loan from Hungarian side Ferencváros. The deal runs until the end of the 2025/26 season and includes a purchase option.
In an interview with Match TV, the player’s father, Martiros Sevikyan, commented on the choice of the new club. According to him, the parties quickly found common ground, and the ambitions of both the player and the team matched.
— We are very happy to be at Akron. This is a club that moves forward every year and sets serious goals for itself. A major factor was the opportunity to work with the coaching staff, which instills modern and entertaining football in the players. From the very first meetings, we realized we were thinking in the same direction, so there were no doubts about the choice, — said the footballer’s father.
Last season, the 24-year-old midfielder was on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow, making 20 appearances and providing four assists.
After seven rounds of the Russian Premier League, Akron is in 13th place with six points. In the next round, on September 13, the Tolyatti club will face Krasnodar away.
