Armenia national team forward Edgar Sevikyan will continue his career in Russia. The 24-year-old footballer has joined Tolyatti’s Akron on loan from Hungarian side Ferencváros until the end of the 2025/26 season, with an option to buy.
Last season, Sevikyan was on loan at Moscow’s Lokomotiv, where he made 20 appearances and provided four assists. In the summer, he returned to Ferencváros, but failed to secure a regular place in the Hungarian champions’ squad, partly due to the new foreign players quota. As a result, both the player and the club agreed on a move to a team where he could receive consistent playing time.
Sevikyan is a product of Lokomotiv Moscow’s academy. At a young age, he moved to Spain, where he played for Levante and even debuted in La Liga in a match against Getafe. In Russia, the attacking midfielder represented Pari NN, playing 40 matches and contributing to nine goals. With the Armenian national team, he has made 18 appearances, scoring twice and adding one assist.
Sevikyan will soon join Akron after finishing the national team’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Against Portugal, he came on in the second half, while he remained on the bench versus Ireland.
