On January 27 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), the final matches of Round 2 of the group stage at the 2026 UEFA Futsal European Championship took place.
Group D. Round 2 Results
Hungary — Portugal — 1:5
Portugal settled the question of the winner early, scoring a quick goal at the start. The reigning European futsal champions controlled the match and confidently secured their second consecutive win of the tournament. Hungary fought until the end, but their fate will now be decided in the final round — one of the most important matches in the team’s history awaits. Earlier, Hungary claimed their first-ever EURO win after an eight-game drought by beating Poland.
Poland — Italy — 0:4
Italy achieved exactly the result they needed to keep their playoff hopes alive. It felt like the first goal would decide everything — and it did. The standout performer was Giulio De Oliveira, who scored a hat-trick, while goalkeeper Yuri Bellobuono made a series of spectacular saves. After this defeat, Poland lost all chances of reaching the quarterfinals.
