Central midfielder Hovhannes Harutyunyan may miss Armenia’s matches against Georgia due to a muscle injury.
This was announced by Ararat-Armenia’s head coach Vardan Minasyan at a press conference after the first leg of the Armenian Cup quarter-finals against Urartu (1:0).
"Harutyunyan has a muscle injury. We hope he will return to the squad after the international break related to the national team matches," Minasyan said.
Thus, two central midfielders of the Armenian national team—Eduard Spertsyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan—may miss the matches against Georgia.
The UEFA Nations League playoff matches between Armenia and Georgia will take place on March 20 and 23. These will be the first matches of the Armenian national team under new head coach John van’t Schip.
