The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has issued an official statement regarding the appointment of a new head coach for the national team. Earlier, it was reported that the name of the new coach would be announced by the end of January. However, as of now, the team remains without a head coach. The federation assures that negotiations with candidates are ongoing.
The main goal is to appoint a coach before the UEFA Nations League playoff matches against Georgia, scheduled for March 20 and 23.
"The Football Federation of Armenia understands that everyone is eager for the swift appointment of a new head coach for the national team. The FFA is actively negotiating with several candidates.
Each of them is undergoing individual meetings and discussions, which slightly prolongs the decision-making process.
The FFA is doing everything possible to select the best specialist. In the near future, the list of candidates will be clarified, after which their candidacies will be submitted for approval by the FFA Executive Committee," reads the official statement of the Football Federation of Armenia.
