Ararat-Armenia has announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Paul Ayongo. The 28-year-old becomes the second summer addition for the Armenian vice-champions, following the arrival of Greek player Alexandros Melis.
Last season, Ayongo played in Portugal’s second division for Chaves, recording 25 appearances, 3 goals, and 2 assists. The Ghanaian has spent most of his career in the Portuguese second tier but has also played in Australia and Luxembourg.
Ararat-Armenia continues to build its squad ahead of the new season and upcoming European competitions. As the vice-champions of Armenia, Ararat-Armenia will compete in the second qualifying round of the 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League.
It’s also worth noting that the team now has a new head coach from Portugal.
