Ukrainian defender Yevhen Tsymbalyuk is returning to Yerevan’s Urartu. The club has officially announced the signing of the 29-year-old centre-back, who previously played for the team during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, winning both the Armenian Premier League and the Armenian Cup.
Last season, Tsymbalyuk played in Romania’s second division, and now he rejoins the Armenian side.
This is already Urartu’s third signing this summer — and all three have been returns. Earlier, midfielders Arman Kazaryan and Edik Vardanyan rejoined the team after loan spells.
It’s worth noting that Urartu also experienced changes during the off-season on the coaching staff: Dmitry Gunko, who continued his career in Russia, was replaced by Robert Arzumanyan, who had previously worked with the club.
Urartu is now actively preparing for the 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers. In the first round, the Armenian team will face Belarusian side Neman. The matches will take place on July 10 and 17.
