After a 2-3 defeat to Ararat in Matchday 27 of the Armenian Premier League, Alashkert's management decided to part ways with head coach Edgar Torosyan. The club officially confirmed that the coach has been relieved of his duties, and his assistant Albert Safaryan has been appointed as interim head coach.
This is already the second coaching resignation at Alashkert this season. Until December 2024, the team was led by Abraham Khashmanyan, who was replaced by Torosyan. However, Torosyan only lasted four months in charge. Notably, no other team in the Armenian league has changed coaches during the current season.
The crisis at the former national champion continues to deepen: after 27 rounds, Alashkert sits in 10th place—second to last—in the standings, with just 17 points, currently in the automatic relegation zone.
Additionally, the club also announced the mutual termination of the contract with Belarusian defender Yevgeny Gulevsky. Alashkert thanked the player for his contribution and wished him success in his future career.
