A New Armenian in the UFC: Albert Tadevosyan to Debut on June 7 at UFC 316

Another representative of Armenia steps into the octagon of the world's top MMA promotion — 33-year-old Albert Tadevosyan will make his UFC debut on June 7 at UFC 316, which will take place in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

Tadevosyan accepted the fight on short notice, replacing Uros Medic, who withdrew due to illness. His opponent will be 31-year-old American fighter Khaos Williams (15–4), who has 6 wins and 3 losses in the UFC. In his last bout, Williams lost to Gabriel Bonfim, but before that, he earned two straight wins — over Rolando Bedoya and Carlston Harris. Four of his six UFC victories came by stoppage and earned him bonuses.

Albert Tadevosyan was born in Yerevan but has spent most of his career in the United States. He became champion of the UNF and COGA promotions and, in March 2025, captured the UNF welterweight title by submitting El Dey Portie in the first round. He is currently on an impressive six-fight finish streak — five of those wins came in the first round.

His professional record stands at 13 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. Eleven of those wins were by knockout or submission. Despite being a UFC newcomer, Tadevosyan is a proven finisher, and his fight with Williams promises fireworks.

UFC 316 also features headline bouts: Merab Dvalishvili vs. Sean O'Malley for the bantamweight title, and Julianna Peña vs. Kayla Harrison for the women's bantamweight belt.
