The finalists of the Armenian Cup have been determined: reigning trophy holder Noah and Urartu will meet in the decisive match of the tournament.
In the second leg of the semifinal, Noah played out a 0-0 draw with Ararat-Armenia. Thanks to their victory in the first match, the team advanced to the final with a 1-0 aggregate score.
In the other semifinal tie, Urartu edged Andranik 1-0. Over the two legs, the Yerevan-based club proved stronger, winning 2-1 on aggregate.
For Noah, this will be the third Armenian Cup final in the club’s history. The team has reached the decisive match twice before and won the trophy on both occasions. Urartu will play in the final for the 12th time, having previously lifted the Cup four times.
Andranik’s performance deserves special attention. The club from Vardenis became the first team from the First League to play in the semifinals of the current edition. However, they were unable to get past Urartu: both goals scored by the Yerevan club in this tie came from penalties.
