Narek Grigoryan continues to impress in Romania. Ahead of joining the Armenian national team, the Farul winger played a key role in his team’s 2-0 win over SuperLiga leaders Botoșani. This victory marked Farul’s third in a row, lifting the club to 6th place in the standings.
The 24-year-old Armenian footballer played the full match and was once again one of the most active players in attack. He was close to scoring his third goal in a row.
Grigoryan’s match statistics:
- Minutes: 90+
- Shots: 2 (both on target)
- Key passes: 1
- Accurate passes: 29 (74%)
- Successful dribbles: 3/4
- Possessions lost: 15
- Tackles: 1
- Duels won: 4/5
- SofaScore rating: 7.1
Thus, over his last three matches, Grigoryan has 2 goals and 1 assist, joining the national team in excellent form.
Interestingly, he missed Armenia’s last four World Cup 2026 qualifiers—first due to injury, then due to the coach’s selection choices. However, now Grigoryan returns, with head coach Yeghishe Melikyan including him in the squad for the final qualifying matches against Hungary (November 13) and Portugal (November 16).
With Tigran Barseghyan (suspension) and Vahan Bichakhchyan (injury) unavailable, Grigoryan has a strong chance to receive significant playing time and re-establish himself in the starting lineup.
Form, motivation, and confidence are on his side. Now it depends on how he performs in matches that could be crucial for Armenia’s chances of reaching the World Cup.
