Crvena Zvezda and Armenia national team defender Nair Tiknizyan shared his views on the differences between the Serbian and Russian championships. In an interview with the “Komment.Show” program, the footballer admitted that the level of the Russian Premier League is noticeably higher, but highlighted an important advantage of Serbian football.
According to Tiknizyan, claiming that the Serbian SuperLiga is superior to the RPL would be incorrect: “The Russian Premier League is at least two levels stronger in terms of quality and intensity,” the player emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that in Serbia, clubs regularly participate in European competitions, which significantly influences the pace of development.
“Here, you can play against a bottom-table team and then just a few days later face an opponent of Europa League caliber. It’s a completely different rhythm, different mentality, and decision-making speed. It forces you to constantly maintain the highest level of responsibility,” the Armenian defender said.
He added that in Serbia, the key principle is not to adapt to your opponent, but to impose your own dynamics in any match, whether domestic or European.
Tiknizyan joined Crvena Zvezda in the summer of 2025 from Lokomotiv Moscow. In the current season, the 26-year-old has made 17 appearances and provided one assist.
