On July 22, Crvena Zvezda kicked off their 2025/26 Champions League campaign. In the first leg of the second qualifying round, the Serbian champions claimed a narrow 1–0 away victory over Gibraltar’s Lincoln.
Despite being the favorites, it was a tough match for the Belgrade side. In the 41st minute, Crvena Zvezda went down to ten men after South Korean defender Seol Young Woo was sent off. The hosts had more attempts on goal but failed to convert their chances. The only goal of the game came from Bruno Duarte.
Armenian national team defender Nair Tiknizyan played the full match for Crvena Zvezda, making his debut in the Champions League.
The return leg will take place on July 29 in Belgrade. The winner will advance to the Champions League third qualifying round, while the loser will move to the Europa League to face the loser of the Noah vs. Ferencváros tie.
