As part of the prestigious PWL 8 tournament, an exciting light heavyweight wrestling match will take place. Belarusian wrestler Kirill Maskevich, who has moved up to a heavier weight category, will face the promising Armenian athlete Hayk Kloyan, the U-23 World Champion.
In Armenia, Hayk Kloyan is seen as the successor to Artur Aleksanyan in the 97 kg weight category.
Kirill Maskevich is a well-known wrestler, a World Championship medalist, and was considered one of the favorites for the Paris Olympic Games. However, his participation in the Games became impossible due to restrictions. Nevertheless, Maskevich remains one of the strongest wrestlers in his category and intends to prove it at PWL 8.
Hayk Kloyan is a young but highly promising athlete with a bright future in world sports. Despite the high competition in the Armenian national team, where the four-time Olympic medalist Artur Aleksanyan shines, Kloyan continues to prove his worth on the international stage.
It was previously reported that another Armenian representative, Slavik Galstyan, would also compete in the PWL 8 tournament. Thus, Armenian wrestlers will continue the tradition of successful performances on major world stages.
PWL 8 will take place on February 25 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the Baluan Sholak Sports and Culture Palace (44 Abay Street). In addition to the Maskevich-Kloyan bout, spectators will witness the main event of the evening—a showdown featuring Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Kyle Snyder against top wrestlers from Kazakhstan and Russia: World Champion Rizabek Aitmukhan and World Championship medalist Alikhan Zhabrailov.
