World Junior Judo Championships 2025 in Lima: Results of Day Two

On October 6, in Lima, the capital of Peru, the second day of the 2025 World Junior Judo Championships for athletes under 20 took place. Medals were contested in the men’s 73 kg and 81 kg categories, as well as the women’s 63 kg and 70 kg categories.
By the end of the day, Japan’s team had claimed two gold medals. Athletes from Tajikistan and Switzerland each won one gold. After two days of competition, Japan confidently leads the medal standings with five gold medals.
On this day, Narek Vardanyan (73 kg) competed for the Swedish team and finished 5th. He secured three victories but lost in the bronze medal bout. Germany’s Artur Akopyan (73 kg) won one match and was eliminated in the Round of 16.

The Armenian national team did not participate in the tournament.
