2025 European Youth Boxing Championship in Yerevan: Results of Day Four

On November 6, the fourth day of the 2025 EUBC Youth and U23 European Boxing Championships in Yerevan was marked by confident performances from Armenian athletes. The Armenian national team demonstrated high physical readiness, confidence, and strong character, securing eight victories in ten bouts of the day.

Youth Tournament (Men’s Juniors)
In the daytime session, several Armenian boxers delighted the home crowd with impressive wins. In the 60 kg weight category, Tigran Makichyan (ARM) confidently defeated Aleksei Lamaka (BLR) with a score of 4:1, demonstrating mature boxing and intelligent distance control. In the 86 kg division, Raffi Khachatryan (ARM) also achieved a notable victory over Mykola Bashmanov (GER), winning 4:1.

The most striking performance came from Tigran Khachatryan (ARM) in the super heavyweight category. He dominated all three rounds and secured a convincing 5:0 victory over Asaf Pozder (BIH).

Russian and Belarusian athletes also showed strong performances. Among the most notable results were Rinat Kasanov’s (RUS) win over Duminka Vasile (MDA) and Kirill Lukyanov’s (RUS) victory, who stopped his bout in the second round (RSC).

U23 Championship
In the evening program, the senior Armenian squad also enjoyed success. In the 67 kg category, Ares Akopyan (ARM) confidently defeated Vojtěch Bernáček (CZE) — 5:0. In the 71 kg division, Harutyun Hakobkokhyan (ARM) also secured a convincing victory, demonstrating superiority in all aspects.

One of the most intense matches of the evening took place in the 86 kg category, where Alik Hovhannisyan (ARM) narrowly defeated Anton Vinogradov (EUBC) with a score of 3:2.

The crowd strongly supported Davit Simonyan (ARM), who won by technical knockout (RSC) in the first round.
