Milan and Inter recover strength ahead of the derby: who will return in time

This coming Saturday, footballing Milan will once again be split in two — the “Derby della Madonnina” is at the doorstep, and both clubs approach the key match hoping to bring back important players.

Inter enter the clash as Serie A leaders: after 11 rounds, the Nerazzurri have collected 24 points and hold the top spot. Cristian Chivu’s side intend to preserve their advantage at all costs, especially considering last year’s results, when the derbies did not go their way.

There is good news for the Nerazzurri fans: several players may return to the squad. Denzel Dumfries, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, and Matteo Darmian are all expected to be available and may take the field on November 23. However, not without losses: Henrikh Mkhitaryan will remain sidelined for at least another week, although the Armenian has already begun individual training.

Massimiliano Allegri expects two important returns: Adrien Rabiot has already resumed training and will join the group on Tuesday, while Santiago Jiménez — absent since the match against Atalanta — may recover at least enough to appear as a joker on the bench. His presence could become an unexpected factor in the main match of the autumn.
