Liverpool claimed an extremely important victory over Inter in the Matchday 6 clash of the Champions League. The only goal was scored in the 88th minute — Dominik Szoboszlai confidently converted a penalty awarded after a controversial incident involving Florian Wirtz.
Overall, the game was evenly matched and did not feature many goal-scoring opportunities. Until the penalty was given, the match was logically heading toward a goalless draw.
For Inter, this is already their second consecutive defeat in the Champions League — earlier the team lost to Atlético in the final minutes, and now they were defeated by a struggling Liverpool. Nevertheless, the Milan side remain in a comfortable 5th place in the overall standings, having recorded four victories in the first four rounds.
Mkhitaryan: 82 minutes, active play and high passing accuracy

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Inter midfielder, speaking to InterTV: "We have to keep our head high, work harder. It wasn't our best game, but let's not forget we played against a top side."

How Italian media rated Mkhitaryan’s performance
Calciomercato (6): Returned to the starting lineup and immediately got into the rhythm of the match, but was less precise than usual and made several mistakes in the final decisions.
90min (5.5): Ran and worked as always, but eventually lost clarity in decision-making. This was especially evident in one wrong pass that could have sent Lautaro through one-on-one.
Sportmediaset (5.5): Neat and clean in the first half, but less sharp in the second, when fatigue began to affect the Armenian’s legs. On this evening, the professor did not come to the board.
Tuttomercatoweb (5.5): Returned to the starting lineup, showed decent physical condition and confidently occupied his position. But he lacked accuracy in passing — the very thing whose absence led to several missed opportunities.
UEFA Man of the Match:
Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
The next Champions League matchday will take place in 2026. On January 20, Inter will host Arsenal.
