In the 25th round of the Italian Serie A, Juventus secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Inter. The only goal of the match was scored in the 74th minute by Francisco Conceição after an impressive run by Randal Kolo Muani.
Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who played 80 minutes and delivered a strong performance, shared his thoughts after the match in an interview with DAZN.
The Armenian footballer noted the disappointment in Inter’s locker room, especially from Lautaro Martínez:
"This is normal; we are a team that wants to win. We were also frustrated because we created many chances but couldn’t score."
Mkhitaryan also admitted that sometimes excessive self-confidence can backfire:
"We are not invincible, but sometimes we seem unstoppable. Speaking for myself, knowing how strong we are, we sometimes enter games without enough focus, and we pay the price for it. It’s not about physical or technical weakness, but maybe our strength sometimes becomes our weakness."
Commenting on the drop in intensity in the second half, Mkhitaryan pointed out that it was mainly due to the opponent's performance:
"Juve stepped up and changed their style of play. We, on the other hand, feeling confident after the first half, thought we had full control of the match, and that backfired on us. We allowed them too much, which should not have happened—but that’s football."
