Armenia national team head coach Yeghishe Melikyan and team captain Eduard Spertsyan shared their thoughts after the opponents for Group C2 of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League were determined.

Melikyan noted that the team views the draw positively and is focused on preparation:

“We are satisfied with the draw. We need to prepare well — there are no easy opponents in football today. All teams in our group are dangerous. We have friendly matches ahead and must prepare properly. In football, the most important thing is self-confidence, and we feel that.”

For his part, Spertsyan emphasized the team’s motivation and ambitions for the tournament:

“We are looking forward to the official matches. Before that, we have friendly games through which we will begin our preparation. Our goal is to prepare well and finish first in the group. Exciting matches are expected.”

Armenia will compete in Group C2, where they will face Montenegro, Cyprus, and Latvia (or Gibraltar).

The new Nations League campaign is scheduled to begin in September 2026. In March, Armenia will play friendly matches against Belarus and the UAE, which will serve as the first stage of preparation for the official fixtures.
