UEFA Nations League 2026/27 Draw: Groups, Match Schedule and Tournament Importance

On February 12 in Brussels, the draw for the UEFA Nations League 2026/27 season took place. National teams discovered their opponents in Leagues A, B, C and D. The tournament remains a key part of the international calendar and will directly impact qualification for Euro 2028.
Armenia were drawn into Group C2 alongside Montenegro, Cyprus and the winner of the Latvia / Gibraltar playoff. That playoff will be held in March: the winner joins Group C2, while the loser will compete in Group D1.

League A
Group A1 – France, Italy, Belgium, Türkiye
Group A2 – Germany, Netherlands, Serbia, Greece
Group A3 – Spain, Croatia, England, Czechia
Group A4 – Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Wales
Several “groups of death” emerged in the elite division, especially Group A3 featuring European giants.
League B
Group B1 – Scotland, Switzerland, Slovenia, North Macedonia
Group B2 – Hungary, Ukraine, Georgia, Northern Ireland
Group B3 – Israel, Austria, Republic of Ireland, Kosovo
Group B4 – Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Sweden
Strong competition is expected in League B for promotion.
League C
Group C1 – Albania, Finland, Belarus, San Marino
Group C2 – Montenegro, Armenia, Cyprus, Latvia or Gibraltar
Group C3 – Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Faroe Islands, Moldova
Group C4 – Iceland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Luxembourg or Malta
Armenia face a challenging yet competitive group, with a tight battle expected for first place.
League D
Group D1 – Gibraltar or Latvia, Malta or Luxembourg, Andorra
Group D2 – Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein

For the first time, the September–October window will include four matchdays.
Tournament Significance
The 2026/27 Nations League results will directly affect the seeding pots for the Euro 2028 qualification draw. Group winners will receive an additional opportunity to qualify through playoffs if they fail to secure direct qualification.
The upcoming edition will therefore be not only a battle for the trophy but also a strategically important stage ahead of Europe’s main continental tournament.
