Lukas Zelarayán scored a stunner in the Argentine Cup semifinal (VIDEO)

Armenia national team forward Lukas Zelarayán netted a spectacular goal in the Argentine Cup semifinal match against Argentinos Juniors. However, his team Belgrano fell 1–2 and failed to reach the final.

Belgrano’s captain opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box, beating the goalkeeper in style. Yet, after the break, Argentinos Juniors turned the game around — goals in the 59th and 82nd minutes secured their victory and a spot in the final.

After the match, Zelarayán addressed the fans with an emotional message:
“The pain of this defeat is immense. We dreamed of the final, and it’s hard to accept this result. But I’m proud of this team — every guy who fought until the very end. We’ve come a long way, showing character and heart.
Thank you to all Belgrano fans for your incredible support. You were with us always — at home and away. We’ll come back stronger, I promise.
Lastly, I want to send my condolences to the family of the supporter who passed away. This news breaks my heart. Rest in peace, pirate.”

According to local media, the message refers to a tragic incident in which a Belgrano fan died in an accident before the match.

This was Zelarayán’s fifth goal of the season.
