Armenia national team goalkeeper Luan Muller has won the Futsal Champions League for the third year in a row. His club, Spanish side Palma, confidently defeated Kazakhstan’s Kairat in the final with a score of 9–4.
The final was held on May 4 in the French city of Le Mans.
Muller, one of the key players of the Armenian national team, once again demonstrated a high level of performance on the international stage.
Another player who featured for Kairat was Julio Zanotto, who previously played for Armenia. He provided an assist in the final match.
It’s worth noting that currently, neither player is eligible to represent Armenia, but both played an important role in the development of futsal in the country during their time with the national team. Luan Muller, who was named the best goalkeeper in the world in 2024, previously played for the Yerevan club Leo and made over 40 appearances for Armenia. His involvement with the national team helped him return to top-level sport after a serious injury, and later win the Champions League twice with Palma.
Julio Zanotto began playing for Armenia in late 2023 and also contributed to the team's progress. With their help, Armenia’s futsal team qualified for the final stage of the European Championship — EURO 2026 — for the first time in its history.
