Leon Shahbazyan Makes Weight Ahead of Second UFC Fight Against Niko Price

Armenian fighter Leon Shahbazyan (12–5) will make his second UFC appearance on October 10, facing experienced American veteran Niko Price (16–11). The welterweight bout will take place at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Duncan in Las Vegas.

Both fighters successfully made weight at the official weigh-in. Price tipped the scales at 77.33 kg, while Shahbazyan weighed in slightly heavier at 77.56 kg. Both competitors were within the permitted welterweight limit.

For Leon, the older brother of well-known UFC fighter Edmen Shahbazyan, the upcoming contest represents an opportunity to bounce back from a disappointing promotional debut.

On June 20, 2026, the Armenian fighter stepped into the UFC Octagon for the first time but suffered a technical knockout loss to Georgia's Levan Chokheli just 23 seconds into the opening round. Shahbazyan will now look to secure his first victory in the promotion.

His opponent, Niko Price, has significantly more UFC experience. The 37-year-old American has been competing in the organization since 2016 but is currently going through a difficult period in his career. Price has lost his last four fights, with his two most recent defeats coming in the opening round.

As a result, both fighters enter the upcoming matchup looking to return to winning ways.

The Shahbazyan vs. Price bout is scheduled for the preliminary card of the event, which will be headlined by a middleweight clash between Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan.
