Armenian mixed martial artist Leon Shahbazyan (12-6) suffered a defeat against 37-year-old American Niko Price (17-11). The fight ended in the opening round, with Price securing a victory by technical knockout.
For the older brother of Edmen Shahbazyan, this was his second appearance in the world's leading MMA organization, the UFC. Unfortunately, the Armenian fighter was once again unable to secure a victory, suffering his second consecutive stoppage loss.
The American entered the contest on a four-fight losing streak but managed to end that run with a convincing victory over Shahbazyan.
The fight statistics also highlight Price's overwhelming advantage. According to official UFC data, the American landed 48 of his 72 total strikes, including 40 of 60 significant strikes. Shahbazyan attempted just one strike throughout the fight and failed to land it.
In addition, the Armenian fighter made two unsuccessful takedown attempts, while Price accumulated 1 minute and 30 seconds of ground control time.
As a result, Leon Shahbazyan remains winless in the UFC, with his professional MMA record now standing at 12 wins and 6 losses. For Niko Price, the victory marked his first win after four consecutive defeats.
